Aligned to all that is most beautiful and unique, an extraordinary wedding happened this day now.

In the Cretan variety of breathtaking nature, under the amazing light, blended with history and culture, Sfakia. Southwest of Crete, where the mountains are high and wild, falling in gorges, small coves, secluded beaches, and the bluest sea. Where the small villages stand amidst unspoiled nature and people are known for their warm hospitality, music, dance, and unforgettable cuisine.

It is this sense of distinctness that makes the Cretans, with their indomitable Cretan spirit, and especially those from Sfakia, so special. They will entertain you with their humour, provoke you with their stubbornness, seduce you with their hospitality and amaze you with their generosity.

It goes without saying that we could not think of a better backdrop for the wedding days of Maria and Yiannis.

No little obstacle can ever stand in the way of love, and despite a small delay, all went well with the world.

Here in the tiny whitewashed traditional church, minimal makes a statement. Simple, chic and beautiful, it can easily boast as one of our top favourite wedding ceremony decorations.

Maria’s wedding dress nodded at our favourite minimalistic wedding style. Clean lines and a minimalist design created the perfect focal point for the bride’s wedding photographs and the soul inspiration to our theme “Lines”.

Destination Wedding Photography does not have to follow stereotypes. And this is a choice we made a long time ago. In our fascinating world of Visual Storytelling, every one of our couples must remain unique.

Kardamyli, a spectacularly beautiful coastal village in Mani, 36 km south of Kalamata and approximately 3 hrs drive from Athens is always presents as a great opportunity for wedding photography. Caught halfway between the deep blue of the Aegean and the rocky bones of the Taygetos Mountains, with the incredible beauty of stark contrasts. It is, itself, trapped between the medieval world and the modern era. Right there, at the very edge of the foothills of Taygetus, reaching out into the Messinian Bay, beautiful pebble beaches and crystal clear waters, is where we met Tom & Line. A beautiful couple from Norway, who fell in love with Kardamyli, the perfect paradise for a perfect wedding day and a perfectly beautiful family who joined them. We believe its hard to find a more stunning setting to make your marriage vows! Tom & Line had their wedding in Kardamyli and we were privileged to be their witnesses at the Town Hall but also their storytellers. Photoshooting for their wedding brought about sentiments and images that will be held precious through time to safe keep and preserve happiness, joy and special values.

How inspiring it is to be with people who are happy, who smile through their eyes and share their love.
One year ago today, a boy and a girl came into our lives. Like in all things , chemistry did its magic and we had a story to tell.

Casey and Alex. Happening in Symi, one of the most picturesque and charming islands we have ever visited. Being very special for its unique architecture, the colorful houses and the ultimately charming energy, the setting oozes charm. The mesmerizing crystal clear waters will bewitch you. Standing on the cliff above the port you have to hold your breath at the amazing sunsets elegantly unfolding on the Aegean Sea. And we can go on and on, endlessly, as it is obvious we prejudicedly love!
In so many ways when you share your story with someone it becomes a part of their story too.

We shall not reveal more. As this is only a sneak peek post to be shared with loved ones. Enjoy and stay tuned for more.

A welcome evening took place, where else but Orsalia’s. The beautiful scenery, the elegant setup and the impeccable hosting, gave the guests the fulfilment and experience of Greek hospitality. A beautiful home, at the very top of Horio , overlooking the island, reaching as far as the shores of Turkey. Breathtaking, to say the least.

The pre-wedding party was the on the famous Poseidon Cruise. Needless to say it was a hit! Yiannis did his thing. Again.

Following the daily cruise there was a pre wedding party at Petalo. A first taste of what the wedding party was going to feel like.

Our brides preps took place at the Old Markets Hotel, right in the heart of Megali Strata. Our very special part of the island !
The Old Markets – is an exquisite, centuries-old national monument with enthralling views over Symi’s historic harbour. A painstaking restoration has delivered a quietly opulent boutique hotel offering the most luxurious lodgings to be had in Symi.

The ceremony took place at the old chapel Analipsi. Directly at the sea. Near the rock of Nimmos, this nice little monastery with a very decorated small church inside. Basically, the only thing that is in this bay is the monastery. The church inside is full of paintings, decoration and has a lot to discover. The miracles are depicted on the walls

The reception was held at Aya Marina, one of the loveliest beaches in Symi. Taxi boats were hired for the guest and he couple. Needless to say, the party went on until the early morning hours, when the last taxi boats took us back home.

And what a destination this was. The most amazing weather was welcoming us at the Island of winds.

MYKONOS

Mykonos/Cosmopolitan and serene, we will always welcome the opportunity to visit this whitewashed paradise in the heart of the Cyclades. And we have lifetime bonds with this Island. The impeccable beauty, and glamour that is always the reason for more gossip. But this island is undeniably like no other, and always an endless challenge for us to take more unique photographs. We like to see different things each time, just as if we have been there only for the first time. Mykonos will never fail you.

Enjoying the perfect spot in warm Aegean waters, this is a sun-kissed paradise, with its whitewashed villages ever so bright. Our favorite Little Venice, with the colorful fishing houses that line the waterfront, their balconies hanging over the sea below, a sight to savor. Be it the music or the timeless energy, there are attractions to suit all tastes here and, with the sun always beating down, life does not get much better.
This unique destination became the dream place for Melodie and Yoann, their first experience, from Canada to Greece was to be their wedding story, and we were appointed as their Storytellers.
The beautiful Villa Elea in Elia was to host their ceremony. Overlooking the golden beach of Elia the horizon was endlessly spreading right in front of our eyes.
The sun came up, and a warm Aegean sea wind was blowing in. This is what Mykonos does to you: It clears the sky and chills you out and then suddenly it’s as warm and exhilarating as it should. Don’t believe it for a minute, you tell yourself one thing, but the sheer twist of circumstances make a fool of you.

We could click our cameras forever. rewarded by two people whose gentle smiles and passion for life and each other, breath life to our images.

We wish you well Melodie and Yoann, and nothing less than the best, and for your life to be a relentless adventure forever and ever. Thank you for trusting us with your memories.

We live in a fairy tale with alternate endings. No safety net is there to prevent us from slipping, no caution signs to guide our steps. Conflicting images appear to us harmonious and opposites are blended to form bland. Love and passion interfere with success and other such necessities, but, as if by miracle and through thousands of contradictions, finds its way no matter what. Yearning for the meaningful, it is transformed to harmony.

Life is moving pictures and each time we blink our eyes the world shifts beneath our feet, And we shift along in an endless dance. To a music that elevates the spirit, to a place of transcending beauty. This determines the nature of our photographs.

Moments, memories and dreams…

We go back a little over one year, when we met this amazing family. It was for Eleni and Tom’s wedding. This time its was for her beautiful younger sister Vas, getting married to Seb at Island Gallery. It was an honour and a priviledge to be trusted and chosen as their wedding photographers, their storytellers.

So different from Eleni yet so similar in the essence, Vas is a beautiful combination of shy and sensitive, yet sharp, intense and very passionate.

Seb, is a gentleman. Any other description would intimidate this title. But he is much more. Courtesy is as much a mark of a gentleman as courage :-) And what a challenge it must be to be a member of this very special family. To dance zeibekiko with the pros!

What does it take to dance zeibekiko ? This amazingly difficult dance, mainly because it has no steps and no particular rhythm. What it calls for is inner intensity, as it is an improvised dance that expresses feelings.

Originally strictly a man’s dance. Not embarrassed to manifest pain or weaknesses, the real man ignores social conventions and shallow condescension. He will pick the lyric that expresses his personal state of mind and he will dance it out, Humbly and with dignity. He will dance only this once, he will not monopolize the floor, or be interrupted.

After Tom who will now boast as “palios”, Seb proved his worth :-)
Only pending issue …coming shortly… is his ability to join our Zacapa tradition.

We hope to never grow to lose the inspiration in the smallest and simplest of things. We hope never to lose the magic in sunsets or ever laugh less. We hope always be able to leave a space for magic to happen.

And when she walked holding wild flowers in her hands the world stood still. For these few seconds, minutes, hours, days or years the world belonged to her. A day like no other. A day of no necessities, or compromises. Her wedding day!

And he, the soul within this magic. It was all becoming inexplicably connected, the location, the people, the ruins behind us, the priest, the people, the appropriateness of moments, of synchronicity, the rain that spared to spoil the dream, just for that one day, and the Sea. Its always the sea. That was so close to perfection.

Someone has to tell these tales. Someone needs to show these bits of overlapping narrative. Someone has to walk a mile in their shoes… someone has to care. And there is soul in all of that. We often tell a tale that takes up residence in someones soul, endlessly driving, transforming or shaping images to memories to magic. And this is our gift.

For Peru and George, it was an Island in the Aegean neither had visited before. Just that!
