We live in a fairy tale with alternate endings. No safety net is there to prevent us from slipping, no caution signs to guide our steps. Conflicting images appear to us harmonious, and opposites are blended to form bland. Love and passion interfere with success and other such necessities, but, as if by miracle and through thousands of contradictions, finds its way no matter what. Yearning for the meaningful, it is transformed.

Life is about moving pictures, and each time we blink our eyes, the world shifts beneath our feet, and we shift along in an endless dance. To music that elevates the spirit, to a place of transcending beauty. This determines the nature of our photographs.

Moments, memories and dreams…

We go back a little over one year when we met this amazing family. It was for Eleni and Tom’s wedding, their eldest daughter. This second time it was all about Elenis beautiful younger sister Vas, getting married to Seb at Island Gallery. It was an honour and a privilege to be trusted and chosen as their wedding photographers, their storytellers.

So different from Eleni yet so similar in the essence, Vas is a beautiful combination of shy and sensitive, yet sharp, intense and very passionate.

Seb a genuine gentleman, and so much more. Courtesy is as much a mark of a gentleman as is courage :-) And what a challenge it must be to become a member of this beautiful family.

To dance zeibekiko with the pros!

What does it take to dance zeibekiko ? It is an amazingly difficult dance, mainly because it has no steps and no particular rhythm. What it calls for is inner intensity, as it is an improvised dance that expresses feelings.

Originally was strictly a man’s dance. Not embarrassed to manifest pain or weaknesses, the real man ignores social conventions and shallow condescension. He will pick the lyric that expresses his personal state of mind, and he will dance it out, Humbly and with dignity. He will dance only this once, he will not monopolize the floor, or be interrupted.

After Tom who will now boast as “palios”, Seb proved his worth :-)

Only pending issue. But coming shortly. Is his ability to join our Zacapa tradition.

Seeking to find the ultimate location to reflect the fineness of ruffles and lace in a statement photoshoot for a Renaissance-inspired designer’s bridal collection, we instantly chose Venice.
Our current project is an elegant collection of wedding dresses.

While searching to find a place to accommodate us during our stay in Venice for our bridal Editorial photoshoot, we run into this exceptional hotel.
The romance and grandeur of Venice were brought to life in this renovated historical building. Nothing seemed more appropriate for our carefully woven theme. The significant architectural style meticulously incorporated into our styled shoot to capture the evocative allure of Venice, and the unique values of a designers brand.

WE CROCIFERI //

This beautiful hotel is located just a few steps away from Rialto and the lively Mercato del Pesce. A restored convent, the historic building, was designed to offer residents profound peace and harmony, in the heart of the maze-like busy streets of Venice, that unfold just beyond its walls. We chose this building to have our editorial photoshoot, and we can readily admit that it has been one of the most beautiful buildings we have ever been to.

Having chosen Paris, Elena and Nikos chose the ultimate city of passion and romance. We never fail to be attracted to emotional torrents that come our way, to trigger our cameras and our hearts. Together they become fireworks in the sky. Switching from intensity to passiveness in their need to interact between both. We find this passion for life thrilling and gazing at this city surrounding us, we drowned our sight into the ultimate magic of the winter river.

they sing with the accordion and acoustic.

of heels on wet cobblestones.

The lovers welcome spring with open arms,
a proposal to a dance of happily ever after.

And what a destination this was. The most amazing weather was welcoming us at the Island of winds.

_Wedding in MYKONOS

Mykonos/Cosmopolitan and serene, we will always welcome the opportunity to visit this whitewashed paradise in the heart of the Cyclades. And we have lifetime bonds with this Island. The impeccable beauty, and glamour that is always the reason for more gossip. But this island is undeniably like no other, and always an endless challenge for us to take more unique photographs. We like to see different things each time, just as if we have been there only for the first time. Mykonos will never fail you.

Enjoying the perfect spot in warm Aegean waters, this is a sun-kissed paradise, with its whitewashed villages ever so bright. Our favorite Little Venice, with the colorful fishing houses that line the waterfront, their balconies hanging over the sea below, a sight to savor. Be it the music or the timeless energy, there are attractions to suit all tastes here and, with the sun always beating down, life does not get much better.

This unique destination became the dream place for Melodie and Yoann, their first experience, from Canada to Greece was to be their wedding story, and we were appointed as their Storytellers.

_Wedding reception in VILLA ELEA

The beautiful Villa Elea in Elia was to host their ceremony. Overlooking the golden beach of Elia the horizon was endlessly spreading right in front of our eyes.
The sun came up, and a warm Aegean sea wind was blowing in. This is what Mykonos does to you: It clears the sky and chills you out and then suddenly it’s as warm and exhilarating as it should. Don’t believe it for a minute, you tell yourself one thing, but the sheer twist of circumstances make a fool of you.

We could click our cameras forever. rewarded by two people whose gentle smiles and passion for life and each other, breath life to our images.

We wish you well Melodie and Yoann, and nothing less than the best, and for your life to be a relentless adventure forever and ever. Thank you for trusting us with your memories.

The whole city of Venice is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece in which even the smallest building contains works by some of the world’s greatest artists such as Giorgione, Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese and others.
The urban structure of Venice has predominantly maintained the formal and spatial characters present in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Authenticity is evident.

In this inland sea that has continuously been under threat, rises amid a tiny archipelago at the very edge of the waves one of the most extraordinary built-up areas of the Middle Ages. From Torcello to the north to Chioggia to the south, almost every small island had its own settlement, town, fishing village and artisan village, Murano. However, at the heart of the lagoon, Venice itself stood as one of the greatest capitals in the medieval world. When a group of tiny islands were consolidated and organized in a unique urban system, nothing remained of the primitive topography but what became canals, such as the Giudecca Canal, St Mark’s Canal and the Great Canal.

Why Venice //

Renaissance society was highly theatrical, social relations often a matter of performance art and much was invested in cloth, tapestry and elegant gowns. Design is evident on a vast scale, as life breaths elegance in Venice.

Between squares, streets and canals, to exalt contrasts, reflections, lights and shadows, we give a new meaning to our Editorial and evoke the suggestions of a unique city.

Discovering the gondolas //

The very often photographed traditional Venetian Gondolas, the iconic black boats that still navigate the canals of Venice., as in the old times, will never fail to catch your attention.

On another note: We have recently discovered some very inspiring secrets about gondolas.

These elegant and sinuous black boats carry the symbol of the city. A symbol that is found in the iron prow-head of the gondola. The sort of comb in front of each boat, which has the function of balancing the boat itself. Its shape, in fact, is not random at all:

_the S-shape resumes the twists of the Grand Canal;
_the six forward-facing teeth correspond to the six districts of Venice;
_the tooth facing inwards represents the Giudecca island;
_the arch above the last tooth represents the Rialto Bridge;
_the curved top end symbolizes the Doge’s hat.

Discover Symi

We are not at all surprised Helen and Jeane chose Symi as the perfect backdrop for their wedding. And we were honoured they chose us as their wedding photographers.
Magic touches you just as you approach the port of Symi. You have the overwhelming feeling of entering the perfect painting, an image of a traditional scenic village. And you remain agape at this spectacular sight.
You cannot resist the superb spectacle of the island stretching its impeccable architecture – almost photoshopped colourful houses listed on the slopes of the surrounding hills. You cannot stop marvelling the breathtaking sight that belies your expectation.
And the sea… The infinite blue… But bluer!

Symi is more than words can say!

And special places make special bonds, our favourite place to be.

Let’s pause at that, but not for long. We have a promise to fulfil – to take Helen and Jean back to Symi, again and again.

For five amazing days, we shared and enjoyed their passion for life, their hospitality and their friendship. It was like we have known them forever. The memorable cruise of Posseidon and Cpt Yiannis, whose unforgettable lunches on the beach keep us dreaming throughout winter.

Helen and Jean, from Ireland and France. With and a very hot spot for Symi, life music and each other.

Helen, the wildly eccentric girl from Belfast, an artist, an animal lover, whose passion in life is the endless pursuit of being the best person she can be.
When we asked Helen to describe Jean, she said: “Jean is the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Jean, in a French accent you will instantly fall for, and the most genuine gentle smile you have ever seen, seeking gems in all that lies beyond… A person you definitely feel blessed to have met.

As prejudiced as we may sound, nothing can be more inspiring for a wedding photographer that the magic of seeing through the heart.
“It is only with the heart that one can see, hear and feel clearly. Think of an image, music or a movie that moves you. Things that we genuinely love touch our heart before our head analyzes them away. Once we think we understand them, they disappear… It is because simple things in life are invisible, inaudible and insensible to an analytical mind and an undiscerning heart.

When you are about to describe people, relationships and the feelings that come with them, puting it in words can be very tricky.
But to describe Eleni you only have to ask Michael: “Warm. very loving and fun” – then you only have to look into her eyes.
To describe Michael you have to ask Eleni: “Warm and generous”.
Then you only have to be around.

Once upon a time

“Meaning comes from the unknown, from the stranger, from the unpredictable that suddenly knocks at your door — a flower that suddenly blooms and you never expected it; a friend that suddenly happens to be on the street you were not waiting for; a love that blooms suddenly and you were not even aware that this was going to happen, you had not even imagined, not even dreamed. Then life has meaning. Then life has a dance. Then every step is happy because it is not a step filled with duty, it is a step moving into the unknown. The river is going towards the sea.”

Our destination was a choice from the heart. The island of fjord-shaped tropical beaches, spectacular rocks and sea caves, majestic domes, seas of olives meeting friendly harbours,. We admit this wonderful setup always goes well beyond our highest expectations. Paxoi. The charm of this island will hook you, with its greenery running down to the glittering water, ever so blue it makes your heart break.

Poseidon, the God of the Sea, broke this piece of the world off Corfu with his trident when he needed a god-deserving place to live his love with the Nereid Amphitrite.

Any resemblance to persons and situations is purely not coincidental. But.. in this island there was love. Irrevocably and confirmed.

And there is nothing more exciting than taking new steps, το the magic that dwells with each beginning. Xenia and Pantelis, so different, so same, so made to fit into the most adventurous puzzle ever created, life.

We have always worked with amazing couples who never cease to amaze us with their sense of adventure and love for each other. We always draw our motivation and inspiration by the people we meet along the way. Constantly looking out for the unique and the beauty within. Our personal development has given us a unique perspective on what it really takes to create truly memorable photographs and a unique experience into the amazing wedding day. Photography for us is the bond between the past the present and the future. To succeed in having captured the intensity of the essence of life, in every hundredth of a second.

Paxoi was a great paradise… But greater were Pantelis and Xenia, their families their friends their hospitality, their feelings and finally the energy that will remain, forever and happily ever after – and here was a story that had to be told. Real photographs of real people.

We had an amazing beach party day at until the early morning :-)
