Wedding Photography Hydra | Evi & Amédée – 23/7/2016
Wedding photography Hydra – The wedding of Evi & Amédée
Wedding photography is a challenge for us. And we always like to reveal a story. The unseen. One that highlights details, that otherwise would be forgotten. One that reveals a different perspective each time you revisit your imagery.
So, for Evi and Amédée the question was: What if ?
What if we had the ability to relive a day in our past
to travel backwards in time
to feel that special moment again
Their wedding took place in Hydra. Built in the shape of an amphitheatre on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic gulf, Hydra is one of the most romantic wedding destinations in Greece. Traditional stone mansions, narrow cobblestoned streets, secluded squares. But above all the banning of cars and the use of around 500 donkeys as means of public transportation, explain the reason why Hydra preserved its distinctive atmosphere through the passage of time.
An Island with a strong personality and aesthetics, that kept its special aura through time. A small hint, was enough to make them fall in love with the island. A love at first sight, could not keep Amédée and Evi from deciding to get married in Hydra.
Following our preview post, we prepared a storytelling presentation of their wedding album, a story of all that happened during these three days of their wedding in Hydra. A beautiful story of beautiful people, with smiles so warm and genuine, smiles with just the right touch of shyness filling us with this unexpected warmth that makes the world seem ever so beautiful.
We once again wish you, joy and happiness on this wonderful journey, as you build your lives together.

Alex and Maite – Island Varkiza Wedding Photographer
Sneak peek of Alex & Maite’s wedding photos at Island Gallery – Varkiza
We admit. We have a soft spot for Spain. We toast to the mentality, the generosity, the hospitality and the very well known mediterranean spirit that we share. Of course we are destination wedding photographers, but then again we are more than that. We are Visual Storytellers. This time we chose a poem to describe something that impulsively came to our mind… A pair of pink ballet shoes.
For a most amazing couple and their special wedding day at Island Gallery Varkiza.
“How do I love you?
Let me count the ways.
I love you out of the box, so shiny, pink, and new
I love you with every pique, pirouette, tendu
Second skin of my feet, keeper of my sole
Every step I take, your virtues I extol
The lines you draw, the patterns you trace
At the barre and in the center, you fill a sacred space
Adorned with ribbon like a satin-wrapped prize
Hiding within elegance the pain you disguise
I love you in class, in rehearsal, and on stage
Treasure beyond measure, my spirits you raise
My road to ballet is paved with blood, sweat and tears
You are my companion persistent through the years
Vertical suspension, the summit of my desire
You beneath me, the wings beneath my fire
From toil and struggle, the suffering for your sake
Comes dance so joyous, ever-worthy to create”
If we could see your last pair of shoes, worn out of dancing, we could still dance through every memory, and give these pictures something to keep in your heart. The very special story of a Greek boy and a Basque girl. Alex and Maite, whose story we yet cannot reveal..

George & Carly at Tsagkarada – Pilio Wedding photography
George & Carly – Pilio wedding photography by rChive
A one thousand year old plane tree, standing in the middle of a square, dominating the landscape and out eyes. A tree that captivates anyone coming across it. A tree that has embraced the most important moments of the village, and still stands there to keep a secret, or two. And you will come back. Again and again.
So we did. Go back to Tsagkarada. A remarkable landscape of unique beauty, as the mountains slide gently into the sea. Yes, the Aegean Sea. As blue as it gets. Lush forests through mountains, bridges and waters creating mysteries, stories, fairy tales… and love. For Carly and George. And it was a place so perfectly fit for them. You could see it in their eyes. The most sensitive green eyes ever. This place was special, as it was meant to be. Rumours went around that somewhere in the picture there was chocolate praline… but we will keep a secret. Until the time is right!
A lost Unicorn elegant and so essentially British, genteel and quirky, and perfect to host our couple, family and guests from Great Brittain. Guest star our favorite designer Paul Smith with his lovely wife , uncle of the bride, was with them for the occasion.
The wedding palette nature, with a touch of burgundy and white totally matched the enviroment, forming an elegant painting of luxury and class. Inevitably beautiful and delicate.

Kallia & Yannis – Ktima 48 Wedding Photography
How do you combine the best of Athens Riviera & Sounio into a unique experience for your guests?
Kallia & Yannis came up with a perfect solution.
The couple’s happiest days started with a beach party the day before the wedding at the Aegeon Hotel and ended with a Tour at the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, late in the evening. Nowhere is the energy of Ancient Greece more evident than at Cape Sounion. The sun was setting on us and the view from the Temple was a breathtaking experience. The idyllic sun down was one of the most iconic sights we have ever seen.
“The first stab of love is like a sunset, a blaze of color — oranges, pearly pinks, vibrant purples…”
Yannis and Kallia, having travelled from London, with friends and families from all over the world, were present this day. Ktima 48, the always impressive location overlooking Sounio Bay. The amazing scenery from the picturesque chapel that never fails to inspire us.
We were privileged to have met them, to have been, to have seen, to have witnessed and to have captured, images from the Heart. We photographed their wedding, as would a friend, one who wished to inspire them, to make them laugh, to make this experience as joyful and as meaningful as the life that lies ahead of them. To secure and to safe keep their memories and laughter for happily ever after.
Here we shall stop revealing, as this is only a sneak peek post. Stay tuned. The whole story coming up soon.

Eliza & Andreas – A Sifnos Wedding to remember
If you are planning a Sifnos wedding, guess why the city of Amsterdam can be your perfect meeting point…
Its more like Amsterdam rings a bell for everyone (and us), like there will always be something going on.
Visiting Amsterdam for an organized presentation for the Cats’s Symi Wedding back in January, gave us the opportunity to meet Eliza and Andreas. You know what its like, when one thing leads to the other and here we are one year later… In Sifnos.
The island that most prefers our destination wedding photography, as there has never been a year without at least three visits for respective events. A beautiful destination indeed and a favorite for our couples!
A surprise pre wedding beach party was thrown on Friday at the Lost Bay, where everything became possible. Friends and families from all over the world, toasting to drinks and dancing wishes to the couple, to love and happiness for ever and ever! It was impossible to call it a day… well, until Saturday…
Saturday – and what a beautiful day for vows of love…
We were there to photograph the magic of this sifnos wedding, forever. Precious pictures as keepsakes of capturing and reliving memories, to immortalize every blink of the eye, and forever freeze it in time.
These extraordinary moments that make memories so precious and unique. But we have told you much. Allow us to keep a secret or two. After all this is only a sneak peek of a story that will unfold in the narrow pathways of Kastro, in the sandy beach of Platis Yialos and in the dominating Cycladic white of Chrissopigi. Full story comming soon… Stay tuned!!

Suspended in time, designed by man under this endless Godly nature – in a composition of blues and greens. Passive and intriguing. Changing moods with every touch of light, carrying us away in its mystery. Trees standing still, as if to let the breeze compose a symphony.
Having ended one of our Vice Versa Hotel Photography projects in Karpenissi, we decided to take a break. It had often been in our plans, but we somehow never managed. This time it was going to happen The road around the lakes perimeter, a montage of beautiful images. The scenery was breathtaking, as the lake surrounded by high mountains, spread itself as far as your eyes could see.
The result of an idea, and the magic help of mother nature this astonishing scenery was created. Lake Plastira, a man-made marvel in Central Greece. A discreet retreat, with romantic hideaways and a magic mood, cant think of a more beautiful destination to organize your wedding, leisure or pleasure. Beautiful stone guest houses with a lake view, equipped with all modern comforts to accomodate the most demanding. guests. Our personal experience at the Pandion Hotel Resort was amazing. An exceptional hospitality and high quality service.
Right there and then, We had already decided on the concept of our next bridal photo shoot. Irrevocably and confirmed. The perfect background for a stylish wedding dress. Laces and ruffles blending into this amazing scenery, passive but intense, ever so intriguing. It took one message, three snapshots and a phone call to the right receiver. A bridal styled shoot was already on its way.
The reeds sway gently; the trees are still.
In view of a cloudless sky,
all feathered against the autumn chill,
the quiet ducks glide by.
The lake is calm a little more;
the ferns stretch, waiting, on the shore;
for a while, the world exists
as a mystery in grey and white,
’til the triumph of the morning light
over the thinning mist.

The wedding of Dina & Markos – Destination wedding photography in Ikaria

The wedding of Dina & Markos – Ikaria
Post by arChive Visual Storytellers
Have you ever been to Ikaria? If not we think you should consider visiting. It is a special place filled with life, the island of music, the Ikariotikos dance and many festivals. The people “have a special relationship with time,” they seem to govern it.
Markos’ home village and Dina’s dream. Both Greeks, living in the United States, with a love for each other and Greece. The heart of a Greek beats differently — the Greek way..
A story of beautiful people, with smiles so warm and genuine. Friends and loved ones came from all over the world, with caring wishes and loads of surprises that enhanced the days of our stay, leaving us with unforgettable images and memories.
We will never forget how seventy people from thousands of miles away gathered on a rock in ten minutes to be photographed with the couple, in courtesy of this special occasion. Such a happy moment… ever so touching.
Dina had told us on many occasions that everything had to be done in a traditional way, like a classic “Ikariotiko Panigiri,” the absolute identity of Ikaria! Almost identical to the customary ways of old times.
Markos was prepped by a group of close friends, a “torturous” experience that will be remembered by all with laughter and mirth. The groom had to be exhausted in every possible way before he was handed to the bride. The bride’s preparation took place under completely “sane” and feminine conditions at the Erofili Hotel, overlooking the sea.
The ceremony took place at a church exactly next to Markos’ house. The party was held in the churchyard of his home village. All members of both families and friends organized wooden benches and tables for guests to sit and eat at during the celebration. Needless to say everyone was invited. Over a thousand people attended, maybe even more. Rasko – local goat – and various delicious dishes were served with plenty of Ikarian wine for higher spirits.
And yes it was happening. A beautiful ceremony took place in the warmth of the village church. Our eyes paused on every smiling face. Emotions filled the evening air with loving wishes and vows. Then the ultimate component of the festival – dance – and, of course, the Ikariotikos dance. Young and old people and children all together hugging and dancing in circles with passion to traditional Ikarian songs played by the live band, some of Greece’s best musicians. Hospitality, sociability, offerings, commitment and generosity, a meeting point for locals, but also for people coming from far away to share this happy moment. They carried us away in their festive mood that we hoped would last forever…
We wish you joy and happiness on this wonderful journey, as you build your lives together.
