Lake Plastira, located in the broader area of the Agrafa mountains, is surrounded by an idyllic landscape of incomparable and captivating natural beauty. Dreamlike in all aspects, it is one of the largest artificial lakes in Greece. It is a natural wonder that owes its existence to the inspired vision of General Nikolaos Plastiras.
The grandeur of the Lake is crowned with the surrounding alpine peaks; snowcapped or green, with rushing streams that flirt with lacy coves, narrow inlets of water between cliffs that create fjord-like scenes and a single luscious green islet in the middle. A mind-blowing landscape is mirrored in the emerald waters of the Lake. Small idyllic villages are scattered around the surrounding mountains overlooking the Lake. The panoramic splendour of the Lake with the high mountain summits painted at the horizon’s edge is an unforgettable experience.
Slopes full of trees and impenetrable green foliage spreading into the water, their reflections an original piece of art, create the most fascinating scenery.

Winter will take you by surprise. The fells previously bursting with autumn orange colour turn white overnight. The remarkable snow-capped fells, the beautiful sunsets and the clear night sky are just some of the reasons we love exploring the Lake in winter.
Naked branches, covered with snow, and the scenery becomes the closest you can get into the Universe. Watching the sunset disappear into the Lake right in front of your eyes is the closest you can get to touching magic.
As wedding photographers, Limni Plastira has been our we have been our destination on several occasions. An endless wandering adventure around the Lake and the dam is the perfect inspiration for a fashion editorial photoshoot. We have made our acquaintance with the horses of the saloon splashing their feet and drinking water at the shallows of the Lake, we have taken rides with water bikes and ended keeping company to a few trees guarding the shore. We cannot easily describe the serenity, the beauty and the inspiration of this scenery.
