A pre-wedding cruise in Symi for Yianna and Yiannis, from Gialos to Agia Marina, Seskli and Agios Georgios. Photography and film by arChive Visual Storytellers.
The CRUISE
Our boat for the day left Gialos and made its first stop at Agia Marina, a quieter start than the rest of the day that followed. From there it continued to Seskli with Captain Yiannis, the same route and the same captain we have worked with across several Symi weddings, though this time Seskli came with a DJ set up on the beach rather than just the usual barbecue.
The group spent the afternoon there, dancing and swimming in turns, before the boat carried on to Agios Georgios for a last swim as the light softened. On the way back into Gialos the pace dropped entirely: relaxed portraits in the warm sunset light, the couple asleep on deck from sheer exhaustion as the day finally caught up with everyone.
Our approach
A few images from the day stand on their own. An aerial shot of Yiannis alone in the water at Agios Georgios, drifting rather than swimming. At Seskli, the group formed a circle around the couple in the sea and beat the surface with their hands until the water turned to foam, shot from above. At Agia Marina, a split-level frame through the underwater dome: Poseidon on the surface in the top half, Yiannis submerged in the bottom. A detail shot of Yianna's bathing suit, printed with "Game Over, Try Again," was one of the day's better jokes. Sunset caught the boat entering Gialos from the bow, and the day closed with a group photo on the dock before everyone went their own way. We kept up with every single moment, making sure everything earned its place in the final gallery.
