02 | WEDDING Photography IN SIFNOS

We photograph and film weddings throughout Sifnos, from ceremonies at Chrissopigi and Eptamartyres to celebrations in Kastro, Platis Gialos and Vathi. Sifnos is the quite secret of the western Cyclades. To get there you have to spend three to five hours from Piraeus by ferry.

Smaller than Mykonos, slower than Santorini, more lived-in than either. Couples who marry here usually arrive having considered the alternatives and chosen this island for what it isn't, not too built, not too loud, not too obvious in its photographs.

The architecture is Cycladic in the traditional sense: whitewashed cubes, blue domes, churches by the hundred. From May through October, the island offers long daylight hours, but the direction and intensity of the light change considerably between its eastern and western coasts. The beaches  Chrisopigi, Vathi, Platis Gialos, Kamares, give you swimwear-day-after photographs that don't feel like a separate shoot.

03 | Our APPROACH ON SIFNOS

Returning to Sifnos year after year is a rare opportunity.

Each visit lets us rediscover the island, its hidden corners, alleys we haven't yet walked, and sea views at a particular hour. Each wedding commission adapts to the couple and the style they choose, from elegant luxury to boho on the beach.

We work as a team of two: photography and film together, run as one commission rather than two professionals sharing a venue. The film captures the day's arcs. The photography captures its edges.
Couples who book us for both get a single visual document, not a pair of separately edited memories.

04 | Wedding Locations and Venues in Sifnos

Most couples that choose Sifnos plan a wedding in Chrisopigi, the monastery on a rock between three coves at the south end of the island. Its position, its profile against the Aegean, and the moment the sun hits the white walls before setting are the reason most photographers, including us, accept that some images of Sifnos will inevitably look like other images of Sifnos. The work is in the rest of the day.

Eptamartyres, reached by 200 steps, is the alternative for couples who want height and quiet over the Chrissopigi profile. The climb is real. So is the view.

For receptions, the island's options have settled around a small group of venues we've worked with repeatedly: Lazarou Beach for sunset dinners by the water, Verina Astra and Verina Suites for elevated terraces, and Fasolou Beach for smaller, looser receptions. Older Sifnos villas come into play for multi-day weddings that want a single base.

05 | BOOKINGS

Our studio works on a limited number of weddings each year across Greek Islands and selected destinations. Most involve travel, multi-day coverage, and collaboration with planners operating at an international level. If you are planning your wedding in Sifnos and our work aligns with what you are looking for, you are invited to request an appointment.

06 | The island

Sifnos is reachable from Piraeus by high-speed ferry (around 3 hours) or conventional ferry (5 hours). There is no airport. International couples typically fly into Athens and continue by ferry the same day or the next morning.
Once on the island, a few places we keep returning to: Cantina by Giorgos Samoilis, perched on the rocks of Seralia beach in the shadow of Kastro; Omega 3 for fish and an unexpectedly good wine list; and Nos by Athinagoras Kostakos for an elevated dinner when the day calls for it.
Everything immerses you into the unpretentious, comfortable luxury that makes each day on the island feel special.

06 | FAQ

Do you photograph and film weddings together, or are these separate services?
We offer photography and film through one studio. Both are planned and produced under the same visual direction, rather than treated as separate services working alongside one another.

For you, this means a quieter day, a single point of contact and a final photographic and filmic record that holds together as one body of work. Photography and film may also be commissioned independently, according to what the wedding requires.
How does the planning process work for a Sifnos wedding?
Most destination commissions begin six to twelve months before the wedding. We start with a video call to discuss the island, the venues you are considering and what you want the work to feel like.

From there, we plan the rhythm of the day together: where preparations will take place, the timing of the ceremony in relation to the chapel and the light, the route between venues and the moments that matter most to you.

When a wedding planner is involved, we work directly with them so photography and film are properly considered within the schedule.
Do you stay on Sifnos for the wedding, or travel in for the day?
We arrive on the island at least one day before the celebrations begin and remain until the following morning. For multi-day weddings or day-after portrait sessions, we often stay longer.

This is both a practical and creative decision. Ferry schedules and weather conditions can change, so we do not risk travelling on the morning of the wedding. Arriving early also allows us to revisit the venues, assess the actual light and prepare any additional portrait locations in advance.
We are getting married at Chrissopigi (or Eptamartyres, or another chapel). Do you know the venue?
Yes. We have photographed weddings at Chrisopigi Monastery, Eptamartyres Chapel, Timios Stavros Monastery and at private and civil venues across Apollonia, Artemonas, Kastro, Platis Gialos, Lazarou Beach and Vathi.

Each location presents different practical conditions: access, available space, direction of light and the time required to move between venues. This familiarity helps us plan the day accurately rather than discover those conditions when the wedding is already underway.

When couples are still deciding between locations, we can also advise on how each setting may affect the photographs, the schedule and the movement of the celebration.
Are there restrictions when photographing Orthodox ceremonies in Sifnos?
Photography guidelines may vary between chapels and officiating priests. Some allow photographers to move freely, while others prefer greater distance during particular parts of the service.

Where required, we coordinate with the priest or wedding planner beforehand and work discreetly throughout the ceremony. We do not draw power from the church and, when additional lighting is necessary, we use our own carefully balanced equipment to render colour accurately within the mixed light of the chapel.

The same approach applies to film. Our cameras and audio equipment are positioned to preserve the ceremony without interrupting it or drawing attention away from what is taking place.
Beyond the chapels and monasteries, where on Sifnos do you photograph?
The alleys of Kastro in the first or final hour of light. Panagia Poulati overlooking the coast. The white stairways and quieter streets of Artemonas.

Each wedding usually allows for one or two additional locations, either incorporated into the rhythm of the day or approached as a separate portrait session. We scout these places in advance and select them according to the light, access, timing and visual direction of the commission.
Do you bring assistants or a second shooter?
The team is structured around the requirements of the wedding rather than offered as a fixed package.

For combined photography and film commissions, we often begin with a team of two, with both disciplines planned as one production. Larger celebrations, simultaneous preparations or schedules divided across several locations may require additional photographers, filmmakers or assistants.

The final team is agreed during the planning stage.
How is the work delivered, and when?
A curated preview of the photographs is delivered within the first few weeks. The complete edited gallery is delivered within 20 weeks.

Film delivery follows the agreed production schedule and depends on the structure, duration and editing approach of the final films. Expedited delivery may be arranged where the production calendar allows.

The complete delivery is digital. Fine-art prints, albums and additional film edits may be commissioned separately.

Most couples also choose a curated album. We design the initial edit ourselves rather than asking you to begin by selecting hundreds of photographs, and present the proposed sequence for review before production.
How is the work priced for a destination wedding on Sifnos?
Pricing is based on the scope of the commission: the number of days, the required team, whether photography and film are both engaged and the final deliverables.

Travel and accommodation are itemised separately and agreed in advance. Following our initial conversation, we prepare a written proposal based on the wedding you are actually planning rather than a standard destination package.
Is there a written agreement?
Yes. Once the scope of the work has been agreed, a written service agreement is signed by both parties.

It records the planned coverage, included deliverables, production schedule, payment terms and the arrangements concerning privacy and image use. It is a practical working document that protects both you and the studio and ensures that nothing depends on memory or assumption.
