Santorini sits at the centre of the Aegean, between Ios and Anafi, formed by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in human history. The caldera, the steep cliffs, the whitewashed houses catching the light from the water, it is a landscape unlike any other Greek island, and a natural extension to a couple who had just married on the mainland.

Alice and Jason came to Santorini two days after their wedding at Ktima 48. The trip unfolded across two separate days. The first was a catamaran cruise with Nereus Yachting, the whole group on board, drone coverage of the boat against the caldera, ending with sunset on the return from Vlychada. The second was a day-after session at Sun Rocks Santorini, secured through Stella and Moscha, who made the premises available for the shoot.

Two distinct days required two distinct approaches. The cruise was about the whole group, the boat against the caldera, drone footage that gave us the geography of the island from above. The day-after at Sun Rocks was about the two of them, alone, with the caldera as the only thing in the frame besides each other.

The drone coverage on both days gave the work a perspective that ground-level photography on Santorini cannot replicate,  the volcanic crater, the cliffs, the scale of the island against the sea.
