The Event

Alice and Jason came to Santorini two days after their wedding at Ktima 48. The trip ran across two separate days. The catamaran cruise with Nereus Yachting carried the whole group, with drone footage tracking the boat against the caldera and a sunset return to Vlychada, passing Akrotiri, the volcano and Red Beach along the way. The day-after session followed at Sun Rocks Santorini in Oia, secured through Stella Chanioti of Stella and Moscha.

Our Approach

Two days, two registers. The cruise needed coverage that held the whole group and the scale of the island from the water, the drone gave us that. The day-after at Sun Rocks needed the opposite: close, quiet, just the two of them with the caldera behind them.

The drone footage runs through both days of this film, giving Santorini's volcanic geography the kind of presence that ground-level filming alone cannot produce. We know the island well enough to recognise when the light hits a specific angle on a specific day, and Akrotiri, the volcano and Red Beach each gave us something distinct as we passed them on the water.

The Destinations

Santorini sits at the centre of the Aegean, between Ios and Anafi, shaped by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in human history. The caldera, the cliffs, the white village of Oia catching the light off the water — it is unlike any other island in Greece.

For a wedding film, Santorini offers volcanic drama that no other Cycladic island can match. The caldera alone gives a film its visual signature.
