As with weddings and every project the studio takes on, a christening is approached as more than event coverage. We look for the story inside the day, and ask parents to put into words this new chapter of their life, the new responsibilities and the new feelings it brings, whether as a short text, a single sentence, or a voice recording woven into the final film. For a christening, our effort is directed toward the child. Our aim is to leave behind something a son or daughter will cherish and value in years to come, a legacy of the parents who gave it to them. This intention is what sets the work apart at every level, from the approach on the day through to a printed album included as part of what is delivered.

We consider christenings private occasions, and we treat them as such. Out of respect for a child's age and the family's privacy, full galleries are not published. Many of the families we photograph for a christening are couples whose wedding story the studio already told. Returning for this day feels like a natural continuation, a chance to carry a couple's story into its next chapter and to be part of the joy it brings.
A short conversation still comes first, so we understand the dynamics, the venue, and the atmosphere the day should hold. Little planning is needed beyond this exchange. What matters more is how the day itself is met.
Inside the church, we work as a quiet presence. The Orthodox rite is followed at a respectful distance, without staging, direction, or interruption. Photography here is restrained by design, in keeping with the nature of the mystery itself.
Once the ceremony ends, a short family session follows, away from the crowd and the formality of the rite. This is where the work becomes more deliberate, portraits built around the child, the parents, and the wider family, in the style of a considered family sitting rather than event coverage. The album images, and the small selection shown here, are drawn from this part of the day.
