Serafina's christening took place at Agia Skepi in Papagou. We arrived early to photograph the church's decorations before the ceremony began and steal a few portraits. The reception followed with a dinner at an Athenian restaurant.

Outside the church, a portrait session with Serafina's parents and godparents rounded out the day. Clean and artistic portraits built around the baby and playful family relationships. Her smile was the center of every frame.

For Serafina, the day carried the ease that comes from photographing people the studio already knows well, her parents among the friends this work has produced over the years.

That familiarity showed in the portraits themselves, images that will stay with them long after this day has ended. The distinction between a set of casual photos and a considered set of portraits lies in the choices behind them, intention, experience, interest and the kind of knowledge that only comes from doing this work for years.
