The Event

This is a featurette film, built around Elena's own narration, one we created to complement the day's events. Her voice carries the film through the wedding in Tatoi, the Tug of War between the two families, and the day after in the snow at Parnassos, telling their story in her own words as the footage narrates the day. The wedding followed a clear winter morning after a storm the day before, a reception that warmed up with a Tug of War competition, and a party that continued into early morning. Parnassos followed, a quieter register against snow-covered valleys where the story unfolded.

Our Approach

Cutting a highlight film around narration allows the edit to anchor to Elena's voice first, footage second. We built the sequence to match the rhythm of what her words say rather than the chronological order of the day, so a line about the morning's weather can sit against footage from later in the evening if that's where the emotional beat lands. The Tug of War gave us a natural high point in the middle of the film, energetic footage that needed quick cutting to match the pace of the competition itself. The party is where our edit shines, following the beat and giving you the vibe. Parnassos allowed the opposite: long, slower shots that let the narration breathe against a landscape doing very little, which is what a quieter closing section needs. Laughter and playful moments in the snow. Working across two locations and two registers, high energy in Tatoi, stillness and quietness of the snowfall in Parnassos, meant building the edit in two distinct halves joined by Elena's narration rather than by a hard cut.

The Destination

Tatoi sits north of Athens, a former royal estate of forest and open grounds that gave this winter wedding a setting away from the city itself. Parnassos, further north in Central Greece, is one of the country's best-known ski destinations, its valleys and slopes reliably under snow through the winter months, a landscape as far from Tatoi's forest as it is from the Greek islands most of our work is shot against.
