A winter wedding in Tatoi for Elena and Vassilis, with a day-after session in the snowy valleys of Parnassos. Photography by arChive Visual Storytellers.
The wedding
Elena and Vassilis married in Tatoi on a clear winter day, after rain had moved through the area the day before. The morning opened with sun rather than the storm anyone might have expected, and the ceremony and reception carried that shift in weather through the rest of the day.
The reception ran into a Tag of War between men and women, following the tradition that a bride shouldn't step on the groom's foot during the first dance. It became one of the day's most competitive moments, with guests taking sides late into a party that continued into early morning.
The day after, we travelled with Elena and Vassilis to Parnassos, where snow covered the valleys and mountains in a landscape that gave this wedding a second, quieter chapter after the party's energy.
