Michalis' christening at Agios Nikolaos in Glyfada, followed by a reception at Barbarossa on the Athenian Riviera. A christening story, filmed and photographed by arChive.
The CHRISTENING
During the day there were moments when everything seemed to pause. Maybe it was the light that afternoon, wrapping around everything, or maybe it was the moments that said more than words ever could. Or maybe it was him, the day's smallest protagonist, whose innocence made everything look simply itself. A reminder that beauty can be as simple as a smile that's just been born.
Michalis' christening took place at Agios Nikolaos in Glyfada, a church we return to quite often for our Southern suburbs events, followed by a reception at Barbarossa, an elegant venue on the Athenian Riviera located in 91 Athens Riviera resort. The styling, once again by MRCO, carried a minimal, understated luxury through the space, and the afternoon filled with the kind of relaxed elegance that needs no staging. At Barbarossa, the celebration took on a life of its own, and the venue became part of the story rather than just its backdrop.
Our approach
Days like this remind us why we love this work, how much these family bonds mean to us, and how these small, quiet moments make every story its own. This wasn't just a ceremony to photograph. It was a moment of life, the kind made to stay, not only in photographs but in the years that follow.
We started off as usual by photographing stills of the decoration, an inseparable part of the day, then met with the couple for family formals before the ceremony, while the baby was still relaxed. The ceremony followed, covered in both photo and video, before the day moved to the reception, featuring live music from Alcatrash, with the godmother participating in live singing more than once throughout the night. We always love this kind of spontaneity.
