Wedding Film Timios Stavros Sifnos | Alê & Aris

A wedding film from Sifnos for Alê and Aris. Three days of celebration combining Greek and Brazilian energy. Ceremony at the monastery of Timios Stavros overlooking the sea, and a reception in Fassolou that continued until morning. Film by arChive Visual Storytellers.

The Event

Alê and Aris married at Timios Stavros, a small monastery on the headland opposite Chrisopigi, overlooking the sea. It was a deliberate choice away from the more familiar Sifnos ceremony locations, more remote, more exposed, with the landscape opening wide around the chapel and the light shifting across the headland.
The wedding ran across three days. The night before, a pre-wedding party at Folie in Kamares brought friends and family from Greece and Brazil together, with a storm building on the horizon through the evening. Preparations on the wedding day were at Light House Residences. The reception in Fassolou brought both cultures onto the same dance floor and continued into the early morning.

Our Approach

Two distinct energies needed to coexist without one flattening the other. The Kamares evening was photographed with a relaxed approach, the weather, the movement, the party finding its own shape. The wedding day required a different register: quieter preparations, an open-sea ceremony, a reception that grew more dynamic through the night.
Timios Stavros changes the visual language of a Sifnos wedding. Where Chrisopigi is architectural and iconic, Timios Stavros is exposed and less familiar. Distance, wind, open space, the movement of people around the chapel, we kept the location integral to the film rather than treating it as backdrop.
Before arriving we had learned enough about Alê and Aris to understand what this wedding was. The Greek-Brazilian combination is not just cultural, it is a specific energy on a dance floor and in a room, and the film needed to carry both.

The Destination

Sifnos is one of the most established wedding destinations in the Cyclades, known primarily for Chrisopigi and the ceremonies held at the cliff chapel. Timios Stavros sits on the opposite headland — quieter, less visited, with the same Aegean light and a different kind of solitude.
For a wedding film, Sifnos offers consistent Mediterranean light, distinctive architecture and a landscape that has been photographed and filmed enough to have a recognisable visual character. Timios Stavros gives that character a different angle.
