Spetses has a particular quality — no cars, horse carriages on cobbled streets, the scent of pine and jasmine, the Poseidonion facing the square. Fay and George spent five days here. The island became the perfect background for their wedding.
The event
We spent five superb days in Spetses.
A pre-wedding day boat cruise around the island ended up in a remarkable Vodka-stricken beach party in Agia Paraskevi. The bridal preps took place at Poseidonio Hotel with girlfriends and family. Beautiful and emotional, our quietest bride ever.
The grooms’ prep was held at a private villa overlooking the sea. A not so quiet bunch of boys saw to it that no one got bored. Ever.
A traditional horse carriage rode Faye and her father to Agios Nikolaos church. Utterly emotional, the first look gave way a beautiful ceremony. Faye had chosen an elegantly embroidered fine lace wedding dress by Maria Konidi. White flowers impeccably decorated the church aisle by Fevronia Luxury Events in cooperation with Mae Mavroudi.
The wedding reception was held at the very popular “Kaiki” on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The party, as expected from such a bunch of friends, was ruthless. A sleepless night and a hangoverish next day ended up at the same beach bar for a lazy sun stricken brunch.
A next day photo session took place on locations we had chosen for them around the island, where plans were made for our next adventure. A honeymoon photo session in the Maldives
Our approach
Spetses rewards patience. The island moves at its own pace; the carriages, the port, the quiet backstreets. We had five days, which is rare, and it changed what was possible. The horse carriage gave us the church arrival. The beach the morning after gave us something closer to who they actually are. Both were equally important.
