Despoina and Alex are two people from Kifissia with strong personalities and a very clear idea of who they are. The wedding was always going to be winter and rock and glam. What was less expected was how much of the story existed before the wedding day itself.

We followed them through a final gown fitting at the Laskaris Couture atelier, the dress, the light in the studio, Despoina in the gown before the wedding had happened. A visit to the store where Alex chose his tuxedo. A studio session for a song they recorded together. A tattoo session for both of them. A studio recreation of the marriage proposal, minimal white background, balloons, and the words Alex had written on the actual proposal: "Would you like to get old with me?" A rock session with drums, guitar and amplifiers, because that is also who they are.

Each of these sessions was photographed as its own piece of work. As part of a whole. As fragments of the same story. None of them were incidental.

A multi-day commission like this one requires a different kind of preparation from a single wedding day. Each session has its own subject and location, its own register, its own demands. The atelier is different from the tattoo studio. The rock session is different from the proposal recreation. We approached each one separately and treated it with the same attention as the wedding day itself.

This is the kind of work arChive was built for, not arriving on the day and documenting what is there, but building a portrait of two people over time, across multiple sessions, until the wedding day becomes the final chapter of something already substantial.
