Koufonisia holds a particular quality — unspoiled, unhurried, unlike anywhere else in the Cyclades. Angeliki and Foivos brought an entirely different energy to it. A large celebration that moved across the island, from the harbour at Mylos to the church of Panagia in Kato Koufonisi, and finally to Pori — where MRCO transformed one of the Aegean's most beautiful beaches into something that felt both wild and considered. The party that followed was spectacular.
The event
A three-day event Koufonisia. Day one: pre-wedding party at Mylos Bar, the harbour windmill, the village. Day two: preparations, then the ceremony at the church of Panagia in Kato Koufonisi — reached by boat across the channel. Pori beach, transformed by MRCO into a setting that held its own against the landscape. Live performance by Sakis Rouvas. A party that didn't stop. Day three: A day after in secluded hand picked locations across the island.
Our approach
Three days across two islands means three completely different visual environments — the harbour village, the whitewashed church exterior, the open Aegean beach at night. Each one required a different reading of light and movement. The Pori party presented its own particular challenge: a crowd that filled every inch of the space, with a live performance pulling the energy higher through the night. You don't direct in that environment. You read it, move through it where you can, and stay close to what matters. The images from this wedding are some of the most alive work we've made.
