The Goulandris Natural History Museum in Kifissia is one of the most distinctive wedding venues in the northern suburbs of Athens, a building with genuine institutional character, surrounded by the gardens and the pine trees that give Kifissia its quality of light. A wedding reception there has a different register from a hotel terrace or an event estate.
Georgia and Kleomenis are both lawyers. They are the kind of people who research before they decide and who, once decided, commit entirely. They chose the Goulandris Museum and they chose arChive.
The ceremony was held at Panagia Eleftherotria in Politeia. The reception moved to the museum in Kifissia, where the gardens and the institutional spaces gave the evening its particular character.

The museum gardens in Kifissia have a quality of light that changes through the evening, the pine trees, the institutional character of the building, the way the outdoor and indoor spaces connect. The Gaia Centre reception hall holds the Geosphere, a five-metre dome that projects the geological evolution of the planet, unique in the world, and a backdrop that no hotel ballroom can offer. We know the venue well. It is a short walk from our studio in Kifissia, and Deipnosofistirion, who operate the museum events, are long-standing collaborators. We arrived ready to exploit every characteristic.

Georgia and Kleomenis are lawyers, precise, considered, not easily impressed. Over the years we have photographed many couples from the legal profession. There is something in the way they approach a commission that brings out our best work , the research they do before choosing, the trust they extend once they have chosen, and the clarity about what they want from the day.
