Kefalari is the heart of Kifissia's most established quarter, the square, the old cafes, the neoclassical buildings that have held their character through everything the city has done around them. The Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour (Metamorfosi Sotiros) stands nearby. It is the kind of location that does not need to announce itself.

Arletta and Vassilis married there. The bride arrived in a Rolls Royce that belongs to the family, a restored classic drawn from the garage as the natural choice for a day like this. That detail said everything about the classic style of this wedding.

The ceremony was held at  Metamorphosi Sotiros in Kefalari. Afterwards, the celebration continued at Vassilenas in Kolonaki, a restaurant steeped in a century of Athenian stories. Once a humble taverna in 1920s Piraeus, it now graces Vrasida Street in the heart of the city's most storied neighbourhood. The connection between the family and this venue was anything but coincidental.

This was a commission between friends. That changes the dynamic in specific ways, the access is different, the trust is established before the day begins, and the photographs carry a proximity that commissioned work between strangers rarely achieves.
