CRETE WEDDING
ABOUT
Maria and Yiannis returned home to Rethymno, then travelled along the Sfakia coast to Loutro for their wedding, arriving by boat. Maria’s style shaped every choice, from her dress to the small whitewashed church.
“Lines,” the visual concept we created for them, appeared on walls, on canvas, and on the couple themselves, a simple expression of connection that gave the day its own character.
The event
Maria and Yiannis’s wedding centred on a single visual concept. Their ceremony took place in a small whitewashed church in Loutro, reached by boat from the Sfakia coast. The flowers, decoration, and Maria’s dress reflected the same minimal aesthetic.
“Lines” was a visual concept we created for them, drawn by hand on walls, on canvas, and on the couple themselves. It explored connection: how a simple line joins two points, and how a shared idea brings people and places together. We carried that concept through the photography and film.
Our approach
Maria’s eye for detail gave us a clear direction. We paid close attention to composition, light, and the relationship between the couple and their surroundings, carrying the same simplicity through the photographs and film.
The lines were already part of the setting and the couple’s story, so we let them emerge naturally in the images. Loutro’s quiet atmosphere and distinctive light shaped our pace, giving us time to observe and space to compose.
