Wedding Film Island Gallery | Maite & Alex
The Event
Maite and Alex married at Island Gallery on the Athens Riviera. The ceremony was held at Agios Dionysios, the chapel embedded in the rock within Island Resort. The reception followed at Island Gallery, built across levels above the Saronic Gulf.
Maite is a dancer. Alex is Greek, and she came to his city for the wedding. They met on a plane to Dublin, Alex noticed Maite reading a Spanish book and understood immediately that the language gave him an advantage. The film carries two accounts of that story running at the same time: one from the wedding day itself, one from the people who knew how it began.
Our Approach
The film structure came from the story. Two voices, two perspectives on the same love, the kind of thing that only works when you have asked enough questions before arriving to know which thread to follow. We built the narration from those conversations and let the two accounts run alongside each other through the edit.
Island Gallery is a venue we know well. The chapel, the terrace levels, the sea view at different hours, we arrived with that knowledge and used it from the start.
The Destination
Island Gallery is one of six venue spaces within Island Resort on the Athens Riviera, a scenic estate operated by Panas Group. The Gallery is built across levels that step down toward the sea, seating up to 400 across a terrace with an open view of the Saronic Gulf. The chapel of Agios Dionysios sits embedded in the rock at the edge of the grounds, ceremony and reception within the same estate, with the sea visible from both.
This film is part of our Weddings filmed in Greece and our work at Island Resort.
