02 | THE STUDIO

arChive Visual Storytellers is a photography and film studio working across Greece and worldwide destinations. Angela Varveri and George Hatzakos lead the work, from the first conversation through to the final delivery.

Our family photography follows the same way of seeing that defines our wedding work: attention to light, timing, and the relationships unfolding within the frame. We look beyond the formal family portrait to recognise individual character, familiarity, and the particular way each family belongs together. The result is a curated series of portraits that feels composed, but never imposed.

03 | A Family Portrait

We understand families: their bonds, their care, their legacy.
Many of the families we photograph first came to arChive as couples, years earlier, on their wedding day. A family session continues that relationship rather than beginning it again. We bring the same attention to your family.

Before each session, we discuss timing, location, and the practical needs of the family: the routines of young children, grandparents travelling for the day, and clothing that works in the clarity of Greek light. These decisions are made in advance so the day itself can remain unhurried.

During the session, we work with a considered approach, anticipating the flow of the day while offering minimal direction. When needed, we guide gently through natural scenarios rather than rigid poses. We create photographs that remain attentive to what happens around them: a hand resting on a shoulder, a shared joke, or the particular way a family gathers when no one is arranging them. These gestures often reveal more than a formal portrait alone can hold.

04 | LOCATIONS

We choose each location according to the family and the character of the session.

It may be a minimal portrait session in our Kifissia studio, the rooftop of your hotel, or the clean urban architecture surrounding the Peace and Friendship Stadium. Elsewhere in Athens, we photograph along Dionysiou Areopagitou beneath the Acropolis, at the Acropolis Museum, through the streets of Psyri, and by the sea along the Athens Riviera and at Sounio.

For sessions on the Greek islands, we draw on our extensive knowledge as destination wedding photographers. We can suggest distinctive places that photograph beautifully while avoiding the busiest locations and unnecessary inconvenience for your family.

We propose locations and backgrounds with care, but the setting is never the subject. It is there to support the portrait. The focus remains on you.

05 | Deliverables

Each family session is delivered as a curated set of edited digital images. Fine art prints, a printed album and a short film are available as optional additions.

Retouching is minimal and done by hand, in the studio. We refine rather than alter, keeping the day as it actually looked and felt.

Personal boudoir photography in Athens, led by Angela Varveri of arChive Visual Storytellers. The studio works across a wide register of intimate portraiture, from lingerie to fine art nude, made through the same studio direction. The studio works across Greece and internationally, also taking on destination weddings worldwide.

06 | FAQ

How does a family session begin?
The process begins with your enquiry, followed by a brief conversation about your family, the ages involved, and what timing and location would work best.
Where does the photography take place?
In Athens, at a location we choose together, or at a destination in Greece if your family is travelling. Each setting offers a different quality of light and atmosphere.
Do you offer styling or wardrobe suggestions?
Guidance, if requested, is based on the location and season, colours and fabrics that hold up well against Greek light, and what works against a specific setting, whether that's the beach, Psyri, or the Acropolis Museum. Nothing is mandatory, and many families prefer to keep their own style.
Can you photograph extended family or a reunion?
Yes. Sessions with grandparents, siblings, and cousins gathered together work differently from a single-family portrait, more coordination beforehand, and more patience for moving a larger group through a location. We plan around it and never rush it.
What if my children don't want to pose?
That's expected, and part of the approach. We work with what's actually happening rather than asking for forced poses, and build the session around natural scenarios and your children's pace, not a fixed shot list.
Will our photos be published?
Only with your prior consent and written agreement. What you choose to keep private stays private.
Is a film available for family sessions?
Yes. A short film can be added alongside the photographs, filmed within the same session. It follows the same restrained approach as the stills: no direction, no staged moments, just what is happening around you.
How is the work priced?
Pricing is shaped around what you'd like the session to include. Everything is agreed clearly before the day itself.
