Οι Αρχαίοι διασκέδαζαν με συμπόσια ή συναντήσεις, παρέα με φίλους ξαπλωμένοι σε ανάκλιντρα, πλαισιωμένοι από μουσικούς, χορευτές, ακροβάτες. Ύστερα έπιναν κρασί και έτρωγαν.

Εκτός από το καθημερινό δείπνο υπήρχε και το δειπνούμενο γεύμα με φίλους ή γνωστούς που ονομάζονταν συμπόσιο ή εστίαση . Υπήρχαν και δείπνα όπου οι συμμετέχοντες συνεισέφεραν ή οικονομικά, ή με τρόφιμα, τα οποία και λέγονταν «συμβολές».

Συμπόσιον μια λέξη που σημαίνει «συνάθροιση ανθρώπων που πίνουν» αποτελούσε έναν από τους πιο αγαπημένους τρόπους διασκέδασης των Ελλήνων.

Έτσι κάπως, σήμερα, σε μια Αθήνα που βαρυγκωμάει κάτω από την πίεση της εποχής, μερικοί άνθρωποι οραματίστηκαν ένα σύγχρονο συμπόσιο, σε ένα κλίμα αισιοδοξίας με μια εξέχουσα αισθητική. Ένα κάλεσμα φίλων με αιτία τη γεύση. # Celebrate with Aria. Και στέφθηκε με απόλυτη επιτυχία. Επειδή όπως είπε ο Επίκουρος Θα πρέπει να βρούμε με ποιον θα φάμε και θα πιούμε, πριν βρούμε τι θα φάμε και θα πιούμε.

Συγχαρητήρια Aria! Καθώς και σε όλους τους συντελεστές άλλα και καλεσμένους για μια πραγματικά αξέχαστη βραδιά. Ευχαριστούμε για την πρόσκληση και την εμπιστοσύνη. Εμείς ήμασταν εκεί, γευτήκαμε, είδαμε και καταγράψαμε.
