Mesmerized we remained after our second in a row trip to the island of Rhodes. The Old town still leaving its strong effects on us, as we strolled within the medieval walls exploring twenty four centuries of history. Fascinating medieval fortress-like buildings, the bastions, gates, narrow alleys, old houses, fountains, tranquil and busy squares making us feel like we had stepped back in time. The palace of the Grand Master, the cobblestoned Street of the Knights, packed with medieval inns that used to host the Soldiers of the Order of the Knights, one could almost hear the sound of the horses hoofs disappearing in the sunset. Images emerging from the strong impact of a variety of cultures and civilizations, Could not ignore the amazing Turkish district with the Mosque of Mustafah Pasha and the Yeni Hammam. The twelve hour boat trip back to Piraeus held for us yet more surprises. The magic spell of a constantly changing, sky we barely managed to keep up with.The clouds were so challenging to our solitary eyes. Spring breeze carried them back and forth dividing them into hundreds of forms and shapes. A strong lighting, then thunder, brought back life to our idle thoughts.

To quote on our favourite Henri Bresson “A photograph is to put on the same line of sight, the head, the eye and the heart”. We did just that, and wish to share it with you. We hope to keep on carrying you away…

A Greek – Italian Wedding in Milos by rChive

A perfect afternoon in Milos, with the sounds of happy people in the background, and a bag full of love to get us going. We even got tips on how to drive your italian lover crazy : at some point, during a romantic interlude, just burst into a song with That’s Amore. It still brings a grin on our face.

“Choose the color of a dress after a thousand hesitations, but for God’s sake, get married without reflecting on it! That’s the grace I wish for you. May you even be so distracted that day that you walk past the registry office without remembering to stop there.”

A real Mediterranean Wedding is all about a late-night cioccolata with my handsome Italian companion. He suddenly leaned forward to kiss me. Finalmente! I had heard about how romantic Italian men are, and now I was being given a chance to test the theory. Fortunately, my charming companion was a talented kisser and did not disappoint. Alas for my cioccolata, it went unfinished!

and yet…

The possibilities are endless! I mean, flowers and candlelit dinners are nice, but if you REALLY seek passion and romance, just study the Italian culture. You are guaranteed to bring out the craziness!

Wedding Photographers – Sifnos

Kostas and Sanem, their friends and colleagues from Geneva, their beautiful families from Turkey and Greece, travelled all the way to Sifnos, to join their lives, and share their love and happiness.

We, as their wedding photographers, shall never, ever forget any moment of this wedding, as we shall never forget these two very special people, a beautiful couple, their special families and a group of wonderful friends.

“ The truth be told we went through a lot of research. I being a perfectionist and “difficult”, the wedding set in a medieval concept in one of the best castles in Scotland, everything was taken care of in every detail. The photographs HAD to be perfect. Google search was set on fire. Nothing could stand for what we had in mind. Up until the day when Vasso of My Best Wished Events, who was appointed as coordinator for our wedding, announced in a tone that allowed no contradictions: “Stop researching wedding photographers. Only arChive can immortalize something so unique. These guys will exceed every one of your expectations, guaranteed”.
Needless to say, the photos are unreal (extraordinary). A real fairy tale, as contradictory as this may sound. The feeling of the whole day was imprinted in every single image. We were at loss of words when the presentation was over. Bearing in mind that the wedding was not a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding, but bore a number of peculiarities, which George and Angela had never previously witnessed, to say that the result was EXCELLENT is only very little. We spent five unforgettable days, with two marvellous people, with whom we fit perfectly. The result was such, that even when years have gone by, it will always wander us back tour own personal and unique fairy tale. In a little castle somewhere in Scotland!

The Wedding in Scotland

Stratos and Rania, and the Bespoke Medieval Wedding in Scotland. Comlongon Castle, near Gretna in Scotland, is a restored 15th Century Medieval Scottish Castle. It serves as a Wedding Venue and a luxurious Baronial Hotel with 14 individually themed en-suite 4-poster bedrooms and Honeymoon Lodge. A beautiful and ever so inspired couple, that shared their dreams with us and honoured us with yet another fairy tale.
The Medieval theme of this wedding was so well supported by friends and family! Scots and Greeks all fell into the mood of this love story, enhanced with the Rock star approach that only felt so natural coming from this charismatic couple. We wish for them a life full of fairy tales and happy endings!

So yes. We indeed gave our girl to her most loving blue eyes. The eyes that (come on now, admit it, Vassilis). Made her faint!

Their wedding took place on the most beautiful day of winter. It was a day when the sun that woke us up in the morning simply intimidated the strong storm of the previous day! But then again Elena’s smile took care of that! It was a day full of love and emotions.  Not to mention the Tag of War that took place after the wedding .. men vs women ( as the bride did not step on the groom’s leg as tradition requires). We shall not reveal (not yet) who won the “war”. We sincerely wish for them to be blessed with all this energy, brightness and happiness for the rest of their life together, along with the love and good wishes of their families and friends!

From Norway to Kardamyli with Love – Wedding in Kardamyli

Kardamyli, a spectacularly beautiful coastal village in Mani, 36 km south of Kalamata and approximately 3 hrs drive from Athens. Caught halfway between the deep blue of the Aegean and the rocky bones of the Taygetos Mountains,with the incredible beauty of stark contrasts. It is, itself, trapped between the medieval world and the modern era. Right there, at the very edge of the foothills of Taygetus, reaching out into the Messinian Bay, beautiful pebble beaches and crystal clear waters, is where we met Tom & Line. A beautiful couple from Norway, who fell in love with Kardamyli, the perfect paradise for a perfect wedding day and a perfectly beautiful family who joined them. We believe its hard to find a more stunning setting to make your marriage vows! Tom & Line had their wedding in Kardamyli and we were privileged to be their witnesses at the Town Hall but also their storytellers. Photoshooting for their wedding brought about sentiments and images that will be held precious through time to safekeep and preserve happiness, joy and special values.
